At Bong Eats we document the food of Calcutta. We cook traditional Bengali recipes prepared in home kitchens, as well as some of the most beloved dishes found in the myriad streets, cabins, and restaurants in the city.
While we share some of the classic recipes with you (because who doesn’t love shorshe ilish, chingri malai curry, and mishti doi?), we also bring you a whole host of dishes that are considered too humble for guests. They are eaten in the privacy of our own families, and provide as much comfort as they do nutrition.
With this project, Bong Eats, we hope to demystify such preparations and make them accessible to just about anyone interested in cooking and eating.

আমি একজন মুসলিম আমার মতে আপনারা যে রেসিপি বানিয়েছেন এটা গরুর মাংস দিয়ে করলে আরো বেশি মজা হবে
আমরা সবই খাই কিন্তু এই রান্নাটা পোর্ক দিয়ে বেশি ভালো হয় কারণ পোর্ক-এ অনেক বেশি চর্বি থাকে। সেই কারণেই traditionally এটা পোর্ক দিয়ে রান্না করা হয়। বিফ দিয়ে খারাপ হবে বলছি না।

In odisha we do have few variations of the same curry.This amarnath is called "Khada Saag" in odia which is mostly found in summers. In one variant we use mustard,cumin,garlic and chilly paste n substitute tomato with dried mango.. Small prawn shutki tastes heaven in such curry.
How far this can be used? Any expiration for this?

এটা একেক বাড়ির রান্নার ধরণ। পাঁচমিশালীতে অনেক রকম ফোড়ন দেওয়া যেতে পারে। আমাদের বাড়িতে কালো জিরে, পাঁচ ফোড়ন, তিন ফোড়ন, রাঁধুনি ফোড়ন-এক একটা পাঁচ মিশালিতে এক এক রকমের ফোড়ন দেওয়া হয়।
